California Humanities Awards $168,000 for First Round of Humanities For All Quick Grants

(Oakland, CA) California Humanities, a state-wide humanities nonprofit, is pleased to announce the first recipients of our new Humanities for All Quick Grants. 34 organizations were awarded a total of $168,000 for public humanities projects taking place across California in this first round of the competitive grants program.

These public humanities projects, ranging from film screenings, dramatic and dance performances, exhibits, to public forums and community conversations, will provide vibrant humanities learning experiences for participants and audiences alike.

“We are delighted that our first round of HFA Quick Grants brought in such a large number of high quality proposals that reflect the diversity of our state,” said Julie Fry, President & CEO of California Humanities. “ We congratulate the 34 grantees whose projects will promote understanding and provide insight into a wide range of topics, issues, and experiences.”
