CALIFORNIA HUMANITIES
Listening Tour Invitation

CALIFORNIA HUMANITIES IS ASSESSING OUR FUTURE PRIORITIES AND, IN ORDER TO BEST SERVE OUR PARTNERS THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

We are going on the road to various parts of the state for a Listening Tour to hear your thoughts on how we can best serve you. We encourage all to join who are interested in the humanities, connected with California Humanities, or have a story to share about our common connections as Californians.

The Listening Tours will take place at the following locations:

  • BAY AREA: September 16th from 2:30 – 5 PM at Oakland Museum of California – Link to register
  • LOS ANGELES: September 24th from 1:30 – 4 PM at Central Library’s Taper Auditorium – Link to register
  • FRESNO: September 29th from 2:30 – 5 PM at Arte Americas – Link to register
  • SACRAMENTO: September 30th from 2:00 – 4:30 PM at Verge Center for the Arts – Link to register
  • VIRTUAL LISTENING TOUR: For those who are unable to attend a Listening Tour in-person, you can attend a virtual Listening Tour on October 6 from 7:00-8:30 PM – Link to register

During the Listening Tour, we will ask participants to spend 3 minutes sharing thoughts about California Humanities and California that we may incorporate into our future strategy.
Please consider the following questions:

  • What issues, topics and trends are most important for your community right now?
  • Who should we be partnering with in your community and/or in California and why?
  • What can we do that would be of most meaning and value to you through the public humanities?
  • Is there anything else you’d like to share as we consider how we can best serve the people and communities of California?

The last 30 minutes is reserved for networking and refreshments with fellow participants. Please note that this is a “Listening Tour” so that we can hear from you rather than discuss current work of California Humanities. If you have questions about our work, you may contact us at nbalram@calhum.org.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at your local event!
