CALIFORNIA NETWORKS FOR COLLABORATION

The California Networks for Collaboration will offer free professional development opportunities over a period of six months (July – December 2015) in 12 different regions across California. This is a unique opportunity to join museum colleagues in your area to collaborate and learn about public engagement, accessibility, and audience research. For more information, click HERE.

AMBULANTE CALIFORNIA
DEADLINE: JUNE 30, 2015

Ambulante California is still accepting submissions until June 30 for its 2015 LA documentary tour Sept 19 – Oct 4. Ambulante is looking for both short films (under 12 min) and feature length films (60- 120min). CALIFORNIA HISTORICAL SOCIETY
DEADLINE: JULY 1, 2015

The California Historical Society (CHS) and Heyday have established the California
Historical Society Book Award for a book-length manuscript that makes an important
contribution to both scholarship and to the greater community by deepening public
understanding of some aspect of California history. The prize carries a $5,000 advance and publication in both print and e-book formats by CHS/Heyday, with an awards ceremony, ample promotion, and an author tour throughout the state. For more information, please click HERE.

ALLIANCE FOR CALIFORNIA TRADITIONAL ARTS

The Alliance for California Traditional Arts (ACTA) has two new funding opportunities:

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM: Contracts to California-based master artists or culture- bearers for $3,000 to offer intensive one-on-one training for a specific art form to a qualified apprentice for six to twelve months.

LIVING CULTURES GRANTS PROGRAM: Grants up to $5,000 will support proposals that sustain and transmit traditional arts expressions and demonstrate impact on cultural communities.  Open to organizations with budgets under $250,000.
