Three Women – Favianna Rodriguez
California Humanities is proud to announce the second installment of The Art of Storytelling exhibit series opening in February at our office in Old Oakland’s Swan’s Market. Last summer we launched the series with Oakland-themed quilts from the African American Quilt Guild of Oakland.
We are honored to present Oakland-based Latina artist and activist Favianna Rodriguez. Rodriguez has dedicated her artwork and community activism to address issues about economic injustice, patriarchy, and interdependence to inspire social change.
Her work is “a powerful blend of digital art, traditional printmaking mediums, and an intimate view of the things that are important to all of humanity – love, interdependence, and kindness.” The exhibit will feature Rodriguez’s work that not only shines a light on women and immigrant communities, but also empowers them.
Thursday, February 16, 2017 5:30 – 7:30 PM
California Humanities office in Swan’s Market

We’ll be joined by the artist herself who will provide remarks about this exhibition and the story that each piece collectively tells.
