ALAMEDA COUNTY LIBRARY—Telling Immigration Stories in Quilt

December 3, 2020 @ 6:30 pm7:30 pm

ZOOM—Join Alameda County Library to hear the experiences of generations of immigrant families, told through objects and photos on a Story Quilt. Community members who took a recent Quilt Workshop will describe their process of taking strips of cloth and decorating it with photos and small objects to represent their family history.

During this event, participants will take a few minutes to tell their family history represented in the art quilt piece they created while we view a photo of their 10 inch by 10 inch quilt piece. This event is part of United Against Hate Week. Everyone is welcome to attend! Register in advance here. This program is supported by California Humanities through a Library Innovation Lab Grant.
