APPLICANT WEBINAR—Civics + Humanities Middle Grades Grants

November 30, 2022 @ 11:00 am12:00 pm

WEBINAR—Join California Humanities staff on November 30 from 11:00-12:00 p.m. PT for an information session on our newest grant program, the Civics + Humanities Middle Grades Grant Program. Learn how to craft your application for the February 1, 2023 deadline, become familiar with the application process, and discuss your project with California Humanities staff.  Register here.

Middle school students are at an age especially defined by issues of identity, community, and belonging. At its most potent, the synergy of civics and humanities education can offer a path to truly engage middle schoolers, to address real issues in their lives and communities, and help them develop agency and responsibility.

Civics + Humanities Middle Grades Grant Program is a pilot program to fund and support projects which seek to foster the connections between civics and humanities education for California’s middle grades-aged young people (grades 6-8 or ages 10-14). California Humanities invites non-profits, schools, educational organizations, libraries, and other California-based organizations working in the fields of humanities and civics to apply. These grants seek to support middle grades students both inside — and outside of — traditional school settings, inclusive of offsite learning like summer camps, field trips, and more.

Funding is available in two categories:
