ARCATA– Screening of RADIO KOBANI (2016, Netherland, Kobani, Syria) followed by discussion

February 22, 2018 @ 11:00 am1:30 pm

Free

ARCATA– As part of the Let’s Talk About the Middle East film and discussion series, Humboldt State University History professor Dr. Leena Dallasheh hosts a screening of Radio Kobanî (2016)

After her town Kobanî (north Syria) being liberated from ISIS, a young Kurdish reporter, Dilovan, started a radio station. Documenting a three-year period, during and after the fighting, this film shows her resilience, and tells the story of a community trying coming to terms with their trauma as they attempt to build their future.

The screening and discussion will take place at The Miniplex at Richards’ Goat (401 I Street, Arcata, CA 95521)

Free and open to all ages.
