ONLINE DISCUSSION–Join Armando Castellano, Music Director of Quinteto Latino wind quintet and Founder/Director of the Latino Music Education Network, for a discussion of diversity and equity in music with Jesus Plascencia, Latino composer and musician.  California Adelante is a three-part discussion series with diverse California native Latino composers, hosted by Armando Castellano, Music Director of Quinteto Latino wind quintet and Founder/Director of the Latino Music Education Network. Our second virtual discussion features composer Jesus Plascencia, from San Jose. Plascencia is a composer and musician of both classical music and traditional Mariachi music. Plascencia’s piece, “Cacophony of Voices,” was premiered by the San Jose Chamber Orchestra as the winner of the Allen Strange Memorial Composition Competition.
