SAN LUIS OBISPO PUBLIC FORUM–Celebrating Our LGBTQI+ Elders: Stories from the Central Coast
December 12, 2021 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Free
SAN LUIS OBISPO PUBLIC FORUM–See a preview of the Central Coast Queer Archive video oral history project and engage with both the producers and participants in an engaging and intergenerational LGBTQI+ public forum. For nearly two years, this collaborative and community-based oral history project has been pairing student and youth interviewers with senior members of the queer community and has yielded an inspiring intergenerational portrait of the LGBTQI+ experience on the Central Coast. The event will begin with a panel discussion from the project participants, including selected video clips from the archive. The interviewees present will then be invited to share their perspectives on working with the Archive, and this will be followed by a general Q+A with the audience. Wine and light refreshments will be provided courtesy of the SLO Art Museum. All state and county Covid protocols will be followed, and seating is limited. An ASL interpreter will be provided and the forum will be recorded and archived on video. Admission is free; street parking and the public garage on Palm Street are available. The Museum is ADA compliant. Sunday, December 12, 2-5 pm The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art 1010 Broad Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 For more information, click here or contact David Weisman, project director, davidjayweisman@gmail.com (805) 704-1810.
