Click on image for PDFCLAREMONT– “Mexican Serenade Revisited” will offer a night of education and entertainment focusing on the history of the Padua Hills Theatre and Mexican Players and their impact on the Pomona Valley and beyond.This festive event will take place at the historic Padua Hills Theatre in Claremont, CA on Wednesday, December 5th from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. The evening will begin with a traditional Mexican Jamaica to be held in the Theatre courtyard -The event will include booths with refreshments and crafts, a Folklorico dance performance by Pomona’s Cielo Rojo Dance Company in the vein of the original Players, Mariachi musicians and a Children’s Mariachi Group sponsored by the dA Center for the Arts. At 8:oo pm or so, the evening will move inside the Theatre with the screening of a Padua Hills Theatre documentary trailer produced by Claremont Heritage. A panel of scholars and original Mexican Players and family members will participate in a discussion on the history of the Mexican Players lead by Claremont Heritage Executive Director, David Shearer.
