DUNSMUIR—Voices of the Golden Ghosts

Actor Donald Kelley in Voices of the Golden Ghosts.  DUNSMUIR—The theatrical presentation Voices of the Golden Ghosts will debut at Pops Performing Arts and Cultural Center in Dunsmuir on October 20th. The public is invited to attend showings at 1:00 p.m or 7:00 p.m. Local performers will present a series of theatrical vignettes about the life of African Americans involved the Gold Mining of 1850’s Northern California. The paradox of California as a free state for African Americans will be explored in a series of historical presentations aimed to explore the ambivalence of contemporary California attitudes toward race.
