ONLINE BOOK LAUNCH–Essential Truths: the Bay Area in Color

ONLINE–Essential Truths: The Bay Area in Color, Write Now! SF Bay’s 4th anthology of San Francisco Bay Area BIPOC writers and artists, will launch June 30 with a virtual reading hosted by the San Francisco Public Library. This 324-page anthology with full-color artwork includes poetry, prose, and visual art from 130 contributors-Black, Brown, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ, and a few White allies. Editor Shizue Seigel declares, “Old ways are dissolving, and change is in the air; BIPOC arts and activism have been here all along …Now we are stepping into the light!” The event features readings from Kim Shuck, Shizue Seigel, An Bui, Andre Le Monte Wilson, Christl Perkins, Dena Rod, Francée Covington, Karla Brundage, Kevin Madrigal Galindo, Lina Begonia, Max Leung, Mihee Kim, Tehmina Khan, Vanessa Cabrera, Venus Zahura Noble and Yeva Johnson, with visual art by Cindy Shih, Lorraine Bonner, and Mark Harris.
