LOS ANGELES–Home movies from the Academy Film Archive collection featuring Gilbert Roland, Desi Arnaz, Delores Del Rio, and more. Introduction by Randy Haberkamp, Academy Foundation. From Latin America to Hollywood: Latino Film Culture in Los Angeles 1967-2017 will present a series of film screenings, conversations with filmmakers, and online content exploring the shared influences of Latino and Latin American filmmakers and the work they created or presented in Los Angeles during the past half-century. This weekly series of programming will serve as the Academy’s contribution to the Getty initiative, Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, Latin American and Latino Art in Los Angeles. From Latin America to Hollywood: Latino Film Culture in Los Angeles 1967-2017 is supported in part by California Humanities’ Humanities for All Project Grant.
