LA HABRA– With a grant from California Humanities, the La Habra Library proudly introduces the second film in the series: Dismantling Archetypes: Breaking down barriers through film. The La Habra Library presents film professors, historians, directors and artists who discuss films covering race, ethnicity and gender identity to encourage dialogue about these important issues. Robert James, film historian and author of Who Won?!? An Irreverent Look at the Oscars, will curate Arsenic and Old Lace. In the film, Cary Grant stars as Mortimer Brewster, theater critic, who has two little aunties with a dangerous habit. There will be a discussion afterwards covering mental health issues as well as euthanasia and end of life rights. Light refreshments provided.
