FOSTER CITY– Social Justice through Music Workshop Performance

FOSTER CITY– Join us for an entertaining music workshop final performance dedicated to social justice. During the five sessions 6th through 12th graders will listen and/or participate for one hour while our Digital Monkey instructors discuss the pivotal role that music has played in the social justice field and demonstrate with piano. Sessions will include musical poems and biographical information about historically relevant musicians and composers who fought for social justice through their music. Our five session workshop will end with a final concert that is open to the community. The first class will be on July 3rd. The workshops are designed for 6-12th graders who have some basic piano background.  This program is supported by California Humanities through an Humanities for All Quick Grant
