GRASS VALLEY– A Place to Call Home: Stories Inspiring Transformation
November 16, 2017 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Free
GRASS VALLEY– Enjoy an innovative and engaging stage event that brings alive the stories captured from more than 30 people touched by homelessness. The issue of homelessness is a growing concern throughout the country. The Councils of Grass Valley and Nevada City have made it a top priority for 2017. Finding a manageable long-term solution will require creativity and collaboration among the many parties involved. In A Place to Call Home, The CoPassion Project has captured stories from homeless people, organizations serving the homeless population, government officials tasked with finding solutions, and concerned citizens. This stage event will share the stories through various art forms: audio, video, dance, music, and spoken word. It is through these stories that perceptions can change, collaboration can thrive, and lasting solutions can emerge. This events is part of a project supported by California Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowments for the Humanities through a Humanities for All Quick Grant.
