LA HABRA– With a grant from California Humanities, the La Habra Library proudly introduces the second film in the series: Dismantling Archetypes: Breaking down barriers through film. The La Habra Library presents film professors, historians, directors and artists who discuss films covering race, ethnicity and gender identity to encourage dialogue about these important issues. Robert James, film historian and author of Who Won?!? An Irreverent Look at the Oscars, will curate It’s A Wonderful Life. One of the classic Christmas movies of all time, It’s A Wonderful Life tells the tale of George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart), who must confront whether his life is a failure or not. A discussion on depression and suicide and how we should handle such sensitive topics will follow the screening of the film. Light refreshments provided.
