LOS ANGELES– Mindful Warrior Project: Stories of the 1/2% (habrá interpretación simultánea)
November 12, 2017 @ 5:30 am – 8:00 amFree
LOS ANGELES– The day after Veterans Day, join us in truly honoring those among us in California who have served by listening as they share their experiences in the ancient tradition of the Greek storytellers during a unique performance, discussion, and refreshments reception at the Mark Taper Auditorium of the Central Los Angeles Public Library. Currently, only ½ of 1% of the US population serves in the military. So much of our understanding of what it is like to serve relies on stereotypes and Hollywood portrayals. A rich cross-section of Southern California veterans have stepped forward to share their stories ~ free from religious, political, or any other agenda ~ in a personal and heartfelt way. The performance will be followed by a panel discussion/Q&A with the veteran storytellers & Greek Chorus members. There will be headsets available for simultaneous Spanish language interpretation at the event. (Habrá equipo para interpretación simultánea en español durante el evento. Volante en español pronto) Be touched and uplifted by the nobility, humor, challenges, and inspiration of the human experience as it is expressed in a traditional Greek storytelling format by the warriors hidden in our midst.
