"The understanding of a culture comes from hearing the language, tasting the food, seeing personal interactions, experiencing the traditions, and so much more when it is in context."

OAKLAND—Have you ever wondered who is making the public humanities happen in California? Are you interested in being part of a humanities network in the state? California Humanities wants to hear from you. We are embarking on a listening tour throughout California over the next few months to find out who is producing humanities content and programming in our regions and across California. Our goal is to sit down and talk with organizations and individuals focused on telling California stories through the humanities, and consider how we might all work together to learn from each other and amplify our voices. This listening session will be in Oakland on October 31, 2019, from 10 am to 12 noon. California Humanities 538 9th Street, Suite 210 Oakland, CA 94607 Limited seating; registration required.
