ONLINE LITERACY PROJECT–Essential Truths Creative Showcase: the Bay Area in Color

ONLINE–Essential Truths: The Bay Area in Color, Write Now! SF Bay’s 4th anthology of San Francisco Bay Area BIPOC writers and artists, will highlight multicultural solidarity with a creative showcase hosted by the Oakland Asian Cultural Center. This 324-page anthology with full-color artwork includes poetry, prose and visual art from 130 contributors—Black, Brown, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ and a few White allies — ranging from poets- laureates and PhDs to high-school students and closet writers; from fire commissioners to the formerly unhoused. The East Bay event will begin with an Invocation by Berkeley Poet Laureate Rafael Jesús González, followed by r4eadings by Avotcja, Clara Hsu, danny ryu, Darzelle Oliveros, Dianne Leo-Omine, Elmaz Abinader, Kelechi Ubozoh, Kimi Sugioka, Sandra Bass, Shirley Huey, Shizue Seigel, Sridevi Ramanathan, Susana Praver-Pérez, Tiny (aka Lisa Gray-Garcia), Tony Aldorondo, Tureeda Mikell, and visual art by Karen Seneferu, Wanda Sabir, and Shizue Seigel.
