ONLINE—Join Fresno County Library for the inaugural events of their “Our Cultures, Our Stories” project, made possible through support from California Humanities Library Innovation Lab grant. The project will cast a spotlight on the cultures of local Lao and Syrian immigrant communities, and personal stories of immigrants in Fresno County. A series of programs will be presented virtually through the Fresno County Public Library web site and social media platforms during October and November of 2020. In the first of these programs, “Writing Recipe Stories,” Jessica Giffen, MFA (Creative Writing) will help you share your unique family recipes and the stories and experiences that shaped them. Recipes will be collected to create a Community Cookbook and will be shared on the library’s website.
