ONLINE FILM–Wilder than Wild: Fire, Forests, and the Future

ONLINE LECTURE–Humboldt County Library is hosting a virtual screening of the award-winning documentary Wilder than Wild: Fire, Forests, and the Future and panel discussion on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Wilder than Wild is a one-hour documentary that reveals how fire suppression and climate change have exposed Western landscapes to large, high intensity wildfires. The film explores strategies to mitigate the impact of these fires, including the use of cultural fire by California tribes. The film will screen at 10:00 AM, followed by a panel discussion at 11:00 AM. The panel will feature: Elizabeth Azzuz (Yurok Cultural Fire Management Council), Lenya Quinn-Davidson (NorCal Prescribed Fire Council), Battalion Chief Nick Launius (Humboldt Bay Fire), and filmmakers Kevin White and Stephen Most.
