PASADENA– Free Screening: Classic Science Fiction Movies – THINGS TO COME (1936)

PASADENA– In conjunction with Dreaming the Universe: The Intersection of Science, Fiction and Southern California, the Pasadena Central Library will be screening War of the Worlds on Saturday, August 25 and Things to Come on Saturday, September 22. For more information visit pasadenapubliclibrary.net Things to Come a 1936 British classic science fiction film, produced by Alexander Korda based on a story by H.G. Wells, starring Raymond Massey, Ralph Richardson, Cedric Hardwick, and Mararetta Scott. Story looks at the future from 1940-2036. The story of a century: a decades-long second World War leaves plague and anarchy, then a rational state rebuilds civilization and attempts space travel. One of the first big-budget talking SF movies. Rarely seen on a big screen. Warren James of Hour 25 will discuss the film following the screening.
