Image Credit: Talia Herman HAYFORK– We want to hear your story! The Rural Stories Project seeks to create and share archives about life, culture, politics, and communities throughout rural California. Utilizing long form journalism, photography, and recorded conversations and interviews, this project will capture stories about rural life. The Rural Stories Project is recording interviews with community members to create an archive of Hayfork life. Join us to record interviews and see an exhibition of photographs and interview excerpts from the project. We will be hosting a series of open interview events where community members are welcome to come and participate in interviews about Hayfork and rural life. To participate in the interview process, come on your own to be interviewed, or come with someone significant in your life who you would like to interview. We will provide a variety of interview questions and we can help you create your own. Events dates and locations in Hayfork, CA: Saturday, August 26th 12pm – 6pm at Eskaton Community Center Sunday, August 27th 12pm – 6pm at Roderick Senior Center Monday, August 28th 12pm – 6pm at the Hayfork Park Clubhouse If you would like to participate but can’t make an open interview session, contact the program manager by emailing piper@thewatershedcenter.com or by visit the Rural Stories Project website at www.ruralstoriesproject.com. Rural Stories Project is supported by California Humanities through the grant program Community Stories. To learn more about this past grant program, please visit our webpage HERE.
