Through storm and stress, in triumph and heroism, and for celebration and dedication, the anthem serves as a powerful and uplifting song of praise. Join the Golden Gate Men’s Chorus for a musical celebration of the human spirit across religions, denominations, and generations with special guest artist, the San Francisco Boys Chorus, directed by Ian Robertson. Together we will present inspirational choral works celebrating faith, peoples, noble causes, triumphs, and losses associated with our shared history.
A pre-concert discussion of music of the human spirit across religions, denominations, and generations. The panel will feature special guests Jonathan Dimmock, Music Director at Congregation Sherith Israel and Organist of the San Francisco Symphony; George Emblom, Assistant Professor of Church Music and Director of Chapel Music at The Church Divinity School of the Pacific, Berkeley; and Ian Robertson, Chorus Director of San Francisco Boys Chorus. Also included will be Rev. Eric Nefstead, Supervisor, ACPE Chaplain residency program, Sequoia Hospital; faculty, The Church Divinity School of the Pacific, Berkeley, and GGMC member; Rev. Jeffrey Spencer, Senior Pastor, Niles Discovery Church, Fremont, and GGMC member; and Joseph Piazza, Music Director, GGMC. Concert to follow at 4 pm.
