SAN FRANCISCO– Queer Conversations on Culture and the Arts and the African American Art and Culture Complex present Home and Abroad: Video and Film by Queer Caribbean Filmmakers This program presents the work of queer artists from the Caribbean and its diaspora: the filmmakers hail from Colombia, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, and the United Kingdom. In comedy and drama, and with animation and lyrical and experimental styles, they tell stories of love, desire, and self-discovery. The subjects are Caribbean carnival, the coming-of-age journey, bad romances, slavery’s legacies, and simmering seduction.
