SAN LEANDRO–A Teen Zine Workshop with CoyoteWoman/Kanyon Sayers-Roods

November 17, 2021 @ 3:00 pm5:00 pm

Free

San Leandro–This September 2021, the San Leandro Public Library is kicking off (be)Longing:Woven into the Fabric of Our Community. This series of intergenerational community events will promote the learning about and embracing of the diverse cultures that make up San Leandro.

Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to drop in at the Estudillo Room’s Project Teen Lounge for this free after-school in-person art event in celebration of Native American Heritage Month. Teens can express themselves by making and taking a Zine out of a single sheet of paper. Learn indigenous ways of honoring the land with CoyoteWoman, a Costanoan Ohlone-Mutsun and Chumash activist, artist, and educator. What does it mean to be a steward of the land and how can we generate a genuine spirit of respecting our land?

Wednesday, November 17 3pm

600 Estudillo Ave
