SAN LEANDRO–Family Fun Night: A Traditional Dance Performance with Intertribal Friendship House

San Leandro–This September 2021, the San Leandro Public Library is kicking off (be)Longing:Woven into the Fabric of Our Community. This series of intergenerational community events will promote the learning about and embracing of the diverse cultures that make up San Leandro. 

The youths of the Intertribal Friendship House will perform a traditional dance performance for Family Fun Night. Carol Wahpepah will lead the students in traditional dance, while teaching the cultural significance behind the dances. Listening circles and a to-go dessert box by Café Ohlone – mak-‘amham will include coloring sheets by CoyoteWoman, and a Native American booklist.
