SAN LUIS OBISPO—Exhibit: Portraits and Perspectives
March 17, 2020 @ 4:00 am – April 30, 2020 @ 5:00 am

Note: There have been changes to many public events due to the unfolding COVID-19 crisis. California Humanities is doing our best to maintain accurate and up-to-date information about events on our website calendar and social media. As we learn about event cancellations and postponements, we’re promptly updating our listings. However, for the most up-to-date information about previously scheduled events, please check the presenting organization’s website, social media, or contact them directly for details.
Portraits and Perspectives combines portraits by photographer Renoda Campbell with oral history excerpts that center and amplify local Black voices. The San Luis Obispo library will exhibit additional portraits and perspectives to those shown at Downtown San Luis Obispo and will also feature listening stations, allowing visitors to dig deeper into local lived experiences. The exhibit will be installed through April 30. San Luis Obispo Public Library First Floor 995 Palm Street San Luis Obispo, CA, 93403 For more information, visit racemattersslo.org/eventscalendar or contact R.A.C.E. Matters SLO, race.matters.slo@gmail.com This exhibit is a part of BELONGING: Expressions of Black Empowerment and Possibility in San Luis Obispo, a project supported by a Humanities for All Quick Grant.
