SANTA ANA–Dancing with the Sun Fest

This free public event will celebrate Mexican American Art, History and Culture. Meet the film makers and watch a screening of the mini-documentary DANCING WITH THE SUN based on the life and art of Santa Ana Chicano Artist Manuel Hernandez Trujillo. Meet the Artists: Exhibition of original artwork inspired by Hernandez-Trujillo created by local artists in workshop with Adriana Yazmin Martinez. Enjoy El Sol Folklorica performing Danzas Aztecas. Enjoy a special presentation of “The Four Separations” by Dr. Manuel Gomez. Travel through time with Dr. Manuel Gomez, UC Irvine Vice Chancellor Emeritus. Dr. Gomez, a Santa Ana native, celebrated leader in the field of educational equality and author of the art/poetry book DANCING WITH THE SUN, on which the film was based, will give a talk entitled “The Four Separations” outlining the extraordinary history of the Mexican people from pre-conquest to the return to Aztlan.
