SANTA CRUZ– Nido de Lenguas: Summer Camp is a one-day event where anybody can explore the indigenous languages of Oaxaca, learning how to speak either the Mixtec of San Martín Peras or the Zapotec of Santiago Laxopa. A collaboration with Senderos, Summer Camp brings together community members with native speaker teachers and linguists from UC Santa Cruz. There are fun group activities and fast-paced games, all geared toward learning a Oaxacan language.
Free and open to the public. Appropriate for anyone over the age of 12. Registration online is required: http://wlma.ucsc.edu/nidodelenguas/summercamp/.
