SANTA CRUZ– Screening of EVOLUTION OF ORGANIC

SANTA CRUZ– Santa Cruz Premiere of the long-awaited film Evolution of Organic by Mark Kitchell. Learn how organic ag developed from some hippie dreams in Marin County and at UCSC, among other California locales, to a major consumer preference, with outlooks for future tweaking into regenerative agriculture. Speakers and Q&A follow the film. A benefit for the Homeless Garden Project, Community Agroecology Network (CAN), and Mesa Verde Gardens. Help celebrate the major role Santa Cruz continues to play in the organic food and farming movement. Following the film, guest speakers as well as filmmaker Mark Kitchell, will bring us up to date on food justice initiatives and agriculture’s potential role in cooling the planet. This event benefits local food justice nonprofits The Homeless Garden Project, Community Agroecology Network (CAN) and Mesa Verde Gardens.
