Visit California Humanities for new Art of Storytelling exhibit We Are More: Stories by Queer Comic Artists. We Are More highlights the connections between queer identity and other lived experiences through the artwork and storytelling of four queer-identified comic artists. Browse books and view artwork by contemporary Oakland-based queer-identified artists Ajuan Mance, Breena Nuñez, Lawrence Lindell, and Trinidad Escobar. View clips of forthcoming documentary film NO STRAIGHT LINES: THE STORY OF QUEER COMICS, supported by a California Documentary Project grant, which tells the story of how LGBTQ comics evolved from a marginalized underground scene to that of mainstream acknowledgement that we know today.
