SUMMARY:OCOTILLO—Evening With An Expert: Carly Creley-Imperial Geographies
DESCRIPTION:OCOTILLO—Join an evening with artist and environmental scientist Carly Creley\, where she will share her current project Imperial Geographies. The project examines the hidden inequities and environmental justice issues that disproportionately affect residents of the Imperial and Mexicali Valley regions. It highlights the work of local residents\, and asks citizens across the US to take responsibility for human and ecological rights in the region. A series of paintings\, photographs\, writing\, and video interviews with residents\, workers\, and activists bring the human stories behind environmental justice issues to life. \nSaturday\, October 7\, 2023\, 6-9 pm\nImperial Valley Desert Museum\n11 Frontage Road\, Ocotillo\, CA 92259 \nTickets: $35 | Dinner and drinks are included in the ticket price.  \nThis project is supported by a Humanities for All Quick Grant.
