When Dreams are Interrupted

Imagine that you, your extended family, and many of your closest friends are suddently deemed a threat to the nation. You are forced to give up your home and all your belongings and move to an internment camp. You don’t know when you might be allowed to return and what, if anything, might remain of the life you had built.

“When Dreams Are Interrupted” weaves community history, personal story, dance, and live music into a performance that uncovers the profound impact left on Bay Area neighborhoods by the forced removal and internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
