Exhibition: Reclaiming Our Stories: Reflecting on the Land at the California Museum

Reclaiming Our Stories: Reflecting on the Land is a temporary banner exhibition centering the voices, knowledge, histories, and visions of California Native peoples.

From California’s landscapes of 250 years ago to the restoration of the Klamath River, the exhibition explores the living legacy of more than 200 tribes across the state. It invites visitors to consider the stories that have shaped our understanding of this land, including those that have too often been overlooked or left out.

Part of California Humanities’ Reclaiming Our Stories initiative, Reflecting on the Land is presented in partnership with Exhibit Envoy and features artwork by Monica Zavala (Gabrielino/Tongva).
