Reclaiming Our Stories is a six-part podcast series that centers California Native voices to explore history, culture, and contemporary life across the state.
As the United States approaches the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the series offers an opportunity to broaden public understanding by including Indigenous perspectives that are often absent from mainstream historical narratives.
Through Indigenous-led conversations, artistic interludes, and place-based reflection, the podcast highlights the lived experiences and cultural continuity of Native peoples across California—home to more than 200 tribes. The series invites listeners to engage with history, community, and identity through multiple perspectives and ways of knowing.
