California Humanities’ Northern California Office Moves to Old Oakland

California Humanities has just moved its Northern California offices from downtown San Francisco to Old Oakland.  Our new office is located above Swan’s Market, a historic marketplace that houses restaurants, stores, and businesses in a newly revitalized neighborhood. Our new and energetic neighborhood aligns closely with our mission to continue to connect with Californians at a community level and share these and other local stories statewide.

You can find us at:

538 9th Street, Suite 210
Oakland, CA 94607
Tel:  415.391.1474
Fax: 510.808.7533

In addition to our new office location, we’ve also updated our name to California Humanities. This name change is intended to reflect what has always been the central focus of the organization – the people and communities of California.

California Humanities is an independent nonprofit and state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. For over 40 years, we’ve produced, funded, created and supported humanities-based projects and programs throughout the state of California and will continue to do so from our exciting new location.
