Tuesday, January 14, 2025 – California Humanities extends our heartfelt thoughts to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires currently ravaging Southern California. The destruction of homes, communities, and cherished cultural and historic spaces is an unimaginable loss, and we stand in solidarity with all those impacted during this time of crisis.
As we witness the severity of these wildfires, we are reminded of the strength and resilience of our California communities. At California Humanities, we are committed to supporting the recovery and rebuilding efforts, particularly within the humanities and arts sectors that play a vital role in preserving our collective stories and experiences.
Our President and CEO, Rick Noguchi, shared, “This is a time to come together and support one another in every way we can. The humanities have the power to bring hope, healing, and connection, even in the face of immense loss. Our hearts and minds are with all who have been impacted.”
We recognize the critical need for timely resources and have shared a range of tools and information to support humanities and arts organizations and individual creatives. These resources, covering state and national assistance, can be found on our Instagram page. We encourage you to visit these platforms for updates and valuable guidance.
Our hearts are with Southern California today and always.
