Congratulations to ten new library staff who have been selected to participate in the 2020 cohort of the Library Innovation Lab. This hybrid professional development and grant program provides support, training, and resources to libraries across the state to research, develop, and implement new programs that focus on serving new Californians. Now entering its fourth year, this cohort is one of the most geographically diverse, representing the San Francisco Bay Area, the Central Valley, the Sierras, Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, and San Diego metropolitan area. The staff in the cohort represent a range of experience in the library field, with some relatively new to library work, and others with many years of experience. With a focus on serving immigrant communities through programming, many of the current cohort members are immigrants themselves.
